The Clark Family and Greinton

The Clark family originated from farming communities on the Somerset Levels, especially in and around Catcott and Greinton, before settling in Street during the 18th century. There, they played an important part in the development of Street from a small hamlet into a thriving village. They were among the early Quaker families in Somerset and were closely connected with the Clothier family, who were also well known locally within the Religious Society of Friends.
